Materials (figure A): Bonsai dish Floral frog Flowers River stones - Place the floral frog into the bottom of the dish and add water (figure B).
- Take a dominant flower stem, a larger brighter flower such as a peony or a lily, and stick it into the frog. This flower stem should have one blossom and some buds on it as well.
- Take less-dominant stems, such as horsetails or ferns, and arrange them in with the dominant flower stem. Remember that the look of ikebana is simple and uncluttered, so try not to use too many stems (figure C).
- Cover the bottom of the dish with river stones.
Products: All the materials can be found at most nurseries.
