Materials: Bowl of proper depth (figure A) Piece of slate or tile (your choice) Water pump Small bowl of your choice (an ordinary planter was used on-air) Several pieces of stone (different sizes) Trinkets or small decorative plates Water Greenery Candle and candleholder - Place the slate or tile on the table.
- Place the bowl on top of the slate or tile.
- Place the water pump in the middle of the bowl, making sure the cord is draped toward the back.
- Use the small bowl to disguise the water pump and cord (figure B).
- Arrange the stone pieces to anchor the water pump (figure C) and to give the water's flow a diverse path.
- Continue to arrange trinkets or small plates. Be creative and have fun with the decorating aspect of this project.
- Now it's time to test the pump and the arrangement of the stones and other trinkets. Pour some water into the bowl and turn on the pump.
- Add the greenery.
- The final touch is a candle and candleholder. If they're placed beside the tabletop fountain, the light from the candle will glisten off the water.
Maintenance Tips: - Water should be added to the fountain approximately every third day.
- Add a small amount of bleach or petri oil to the water to cleanse the fountain. This will keep the water shimmering.
