Taking the do-it-yourself notion to an extreme, DIY Network's first-ever interactive homebuilding series, Blog Cabin, asked the whole world to log on and help design a fabulous log cabin nestled in the Great Smoky Mountains - a cabin destined for one lucky DIY sweepstakes winner. Once the votes were cast and the blueprints complete, 11 of DIY Network's expert hosts came together to build the unique cabin and document it in a 13-part television series. Joyce Bennett of Maryville, Tennessee, was announced on-air and online as the lucky winner of DIY's first Blog Cabin. "I was so surprised!" Bennett said of winning the 1,600-square-foot, two-story log cabin on 1.17 acres. "I couldn't believe it!" In early 2007, DIYnetwork.com visitors and bloggers cast more than 4.2 million votes on 13 features ranging from the floor plan, roof, countertops, front door and more. Be sure to visit the Blog Cabin 2008 area and join in the fun!
