    Fine-Tuning Sprinkler Patterns

    • After the system has been tested and run, it's now time to fine-tune the sprinkler patterns.

    • Start by placing landscaping flags at each sprinkler head (figure A). This allows you to see the head better from a distance while it's working.

    • Follow manufacturer's instructions on adjusting nozzles. In our case, the featured nozzles have a "stop" setting on the left. By pulling up on the protective ring located along the shaft of the sprinkler head, you can adjust the spray pattern (figure B). Push down on the head and turn clockwise for more coverage; counter-clockwise for less coverage.

    • Finally, set the protective collar back in place.
