The piece of machinery that host Paul Ryan used on the "Underground Sprinkler" project is known as a dingo. This particular model was only 34" wide, which made it easy to maneuver around the font and backyard, around gates, etc. This impressive machine has only three basic controls: - Movement control.
- Attachments control.
- The lever that raises and lowers the machine.
The vibratory plow that Ryan used for the project is only one of more than 35 attachments for the dingo. Along with the basic machine, you can rent a trailer full of implements -- with the auger (figure A) being one that was used to dig holes on this project. Other attachments include a till, backhoe, concrete breaker, stump grinder, buckets and more. It's easy to switch attachments. Simply drive up to the trailer, release one implement and attach another. The machine also was used to pull up a fence that was blocking the trenching route. The rental price for a dingo is approximately $150.
