    As you rake your lawn and garden, put leaves into a large plastic garbage bag to make compost. Shake the leaves down to the bottom of the bag, fold the top of the bag over, and then press all the air out. Put the bag of leaves where it can hang around for a year or so, and weight down the closed end with a couple of bricks (figure A). Use clippers to cut a few holes in the bag that will allow oxygen in. After 9-12 months in the yard, the bag will be full of compost.
