Clamp a fitting to the end of the pipe so that you can add the reducer. Attach a plastic reducer to the fitting in the end of the zone pipe by screwing the two ends together (figure A) -- be sure, however, to first apply Teflon (c) tape to the threads of the reducer to help prevent leaks. Slide a small clamp onto the 1/2" pipe. Insert the 1/2" pipe into the other end of the reducer (figure B). Slide the clamp up to the reducer and crimp (figure C). Mark where on the 1/2" pipe you want a microsprayer to be located and poke a hole through the pipe using a landscaping staple (figure D). Push microsprayer nub into hole (figure E) and listen for a snap. This lets you know that there is a good connection. Finish installing all the other microsprayers and secure the pipe to the ground with landscaping staples. Cover the 1/2" zone pipe with mulch or other top dressing.
