To begin creating an inviting entryway, host Mayita Dinos and crew measure and mark the area to determine the placement for a graceful wooden archway arbor. Materials: Flagstone Redi-mix concrete with fiber Bucket GFCI outlet Arbor Low-voltage lighting kit Shovel Trowel Potting soil Rake Drill Screws Level - Remove any grass in the space.
- Place the top of the arbor upside down on the ground. Put the sides of the arbor in place, and use a drill to screw the sides into place. The holes may already be pre-drilled by the manufacturer to eliminate guesswork.
- Put the side anchors in position, and screw them into place with the drill.
- Turn the arbor right side up and position it into place.
- Mark where the feet sit on the ground by spraying under them with a bright spray paint.
- Dig down within the paint outline about 1 foot.
- Measure the distance of the anchor footing slots between the feet of the arbor.
- Pour cement into the holes, add water and stir.
- When the cement has hardened sufficiently, measure between the holes to determine where the metal anchor should be placed.
- Place the anchors in the cement and allow the cement to harden completely.
- Cover the exposed surface of the anchor holes with dirt.
- Place the arbor on the anchors, lining up the footing slots.
- Use a drill and screws to attach the arbor to the anchors.
