7. If the water can flow, your plants will grow. Drainage is very important to consider. You want to make sure that if you have low areas, you can build those up so the water doesn't pool in one area. If you have clay soil, be aware: that's the worst soil you can have in a landscape. The plants will essentially just sit and puddle because with clay soil, there's no drainage.
