10 Things You Must Know: Drywall

Tip 7: Don't break your back without a ceiling jack. Start with the ceiling if you can. When you put the board along the ceiling and then add it to the wall, the boards on the wall hold up the ceiling a little bit, and that's a little bit of free support. If you want to rent equipment, you can also rent drywall jacks to help hold the wallboard in place. That makes it much easier, and once you press and screw it in place, you can lower the jack for the next sheet.
