For truck enthusiasts who live by the motto "higher is better," this episode of
Weekend Mechanic shows you how to install lift kit to give your truck more clearance. For off-roading, additional ground clearance has obvious advantages, and increasing numbers of truck owners simply like that "lifted" look. With the right tools, this project can be completed in a day or so and has a difficulty rating in the low-intermediate range. In our demonstration, we raise the suspension on our truck about three inches using a chassis lift-kit, we add oversized tires, replace front coil-springs, add a leaf to the rear springs and replace all four shocks.
