In this episode, host Mayita Dinos discovers another problem area on the property featured in this series: the useless space between the garage and the house. In full-shade with no depth, what purpose can it serve? Dinos sets out to make it functional, first implementing a vertical planting plan with vines on espaliers and screens. Next she fills in the shallow area between the buildings with pavers and adds shade-loving plants in the spaces between them. A French bistro table and chairs and are the final additions to what's now a quiet, sophisticated spot for two.
