Host Maureen Gilmer takes on the area of a home adjacent to its driveway, where there's no soil for planting. Instead, she uses large, attractive containers to plant big, beautiful plants, identifying species for both sunny and shady areas. She adds a stylish trough under a window and plants it for visual interest from inside the house; then she adds a beautiful honeysuckle vine to an ultra-modern trellis. The vine will eventually cover the trellis and frame the window while drawing butterflies to view from inside. A perimeter of pea gravel and an indoor/outdoor carpet topped with a bistro table and chairs complete this now-charming retreat.
