Host Jeanne Benedict demonstrates how to throw the perfect High-School Basketball Team Reunion party in this week's Weekend Entertaining episode.
|
In this episode show host Jeanne Benedict will help Frank (the party host) reunite his regional champion high school basketball team 30 years after they won the title. Frank and Jeanne create a mural that mimics the original team photo. Jeanne and Frank's wife, Ruth Ann, create a two-sided buffet that mimics the look of a basketball court, complete with a "hardwood" floor and a basketball goal. The food will be served in bowls painted to look like basketballs. As for the menu, southern comfort food is the name of the game, served on cafeteria-style plastic trays complete with separate compartments. Chicken-n-Dumplings will be the main course and cafeteria classic- macaroni and cheese gets a new twist, reinvented as an appetizer. Crispy lightly breaded macaroni and cheese balls complete with a creamy marinara dipping sauce should score plenty of points with guests. While the gentleman congregate and talk about old times, the ladies can spend some time creating shadowboxes complete with copies of old photos of the team.
This party is rated 4 on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the most difficult, and is geared toward the skills of a frequent entertainer.
