In this episode, show host Jeanne Benedict and the party hosts (John and Deena) take a trip to the Outback without leaving their backyard. The fun starts when Deena and Jeanne make didgeridoos (a classic Australian instrument) for themselves and their guests. During the party, folks can decorate their own instruments. They also paint and stencil Outback designs on 3 different sizes of terra cotta pots to be used throughout the party space. The small set of pots are filled with sand and accented with eucalyptus and spider mums. They serve as centerpieces on the rented tables.
The ladies make beeswax garden torches to go in the large terra cotta pots. Jeanne talks with party rental expert Jack Campbell about how to coordinate professionals to come and set up a tent. A disc jockey has also been hired for some added entertainment, and Jeanne gets some tips from him as well. John and Jeanne made all the tasty treats for the party including Australian food staples like Damper Bread, Pavlova dessert, Shrimp on the Barbie, Macadamia Nut Crusted Pork Loin and wine-basted beef tenderloin.
