In this project, the light-hearted Allyson, who is not afraid to laugh at her mistakes, makes a vibrant stained-glass standing mirror.
Materials:
soldering iron
flux and brush
solder
copper foil
1/4" plate mirror
glass pieces
Windex
lathkin
copper wire
Steps:1. Cut your design/pattern out of stock paper and trace onto glass.
2. Cut glass pieces and mirror to match pattern.
3. Grind glass pieces and mirror to remove sharp edges and clean pieces (figure A).
4. Wrap each piece and mirror in copper foil (figure B).
5. Lay out in pattern and apply flux (figure C).
6. Solder pieces in place, front and back.
7. Add decorative copper wire-solder and copper wire backing for stand (figure D).
