Steps:1. To begin, have your water boiling and paper cut to the size you wish it to be--5" x 7" and 6-1/2" x 10" for a card.
2. Find a composition you want to be your image and take a photo. Look for directional lines and lights and darks. Expose the film. Do not pull it out of the camera until you are back at your work space.
3. First hold your paper over the steam for five seconds and then lay on the work space.
4. Pull the leader tab, and slowly and smoothly pull the photo out of the camera. There will be exposed chemistry at the short end of the photo--keep fingers away. If you happen to get the caustic gel on your skin, wash off immediately or wear rubber gloves.
5. Hold it over the steam for about 10 seconds, moving it constantly. When 10 seconds has passed, pull the photo away from the emulsion.
6. Set the underdeveloped photo to the side. The emulsion side is where to get the transfer from. Hold it over the steam for about ten seconds. Then place it emulsion side down on the watercolor paper.
7. Rub gently but firmly with fingers. Before pulling them apart, hold both over the steam for a few seconds, moving constantly.
8. Peal part slowly. If some of the emulsion doesnt come off, touch up with watercolor pencils or collage it.
9. Send it as a card or hang it in a frame.
