Project by Carman Stalker from San Diego, Calif.Carman is handy with handbags. Using the sewing skills she learned from her grandmother and mother growing up, Carman has created a style all her own. In this project, she creates a clever yet hip bathroom mat wallet.
Materials:
bath mat
grommets and tool
hole punch
scissors
ribbon
Steps:1. Buy bath mat at the any home decor store. Measure out desired wallet size and cut bath mat to desired size (figure A).
2. Punch holes for grommets along the sides of bath mat (figure B).
3. Match up holes to form wallet and put grommets through using appropriate tools (figure C).
4. Place one hole on the top flap of the wallet. Cut a length of ribbon (or make your own out of fabric) and place through top flap hole.
5. String ribbon around wallet and tie in a knot or a bow (figure D).
