    Kareen Kjelstrom loves creating jewelry. In this project, she makes a lovely beaded bracelet with multiple strands.

    Materials:

    7 handmade glass beads (9-10mm)
    black agate
    black Swarovski crystals
    black onyx
    small black stones
    30" nylon-coated wire
    2 sterling silver cones
    2 sterling silver spacer bars
    sterling silver toggle clasp
    6 sterling silver crimp beads
    4" of 22-gauge sterling silver round wire
    round nose pliers
    chain nose pliers

    To make the beads:

    minor bench burner
    oxygen and propane
    Effetre (Morretti) glass rods
    steel mandrels
    fiber blanket

    Steps:

    1. Make glass beads: Turn on oxygen and propane. Light the torch. Heat glass, attach and shape on steel mandrel. Allow to cool in fiber blanket. Remove glass bead and clean.

    2. String black agate, onyx, Swarovski crystals, and small black beads to three strands of nylon-coated wire. Interchange stones with handmade glass beads (figure A).

    3. Braid beaded strands (figure B). Adding sterling silver spacer bars to add width to the bracelet and ensure the strands stay in place (figure C).

    4. Finish off the ends with sterling silver cones and a sterling silver toggle clasp (figure D).
