Steps:1. Cut out a shape of fabric--usually a square or rectangle gives a nice foundation (figure A).
2. Sew (by hand or machine) an even more random shape of some other sort, leaving a small opening to stuff later (figure B).
3. While still inside out: Determine where eyes will go and snap in place; make a ruling on hands and/or tails and sew in place (by hand--always going up and down the length of tail and/or arms twice to ensure it stays on) (figure C).
4. Usually I think of a name at this point. I just see what comes to me as Im putting pieces on to place.
5. Stuff, being careful not to over or under stuff. Note: It's actually pretty tricky to get right. Too much and the critter becomes like a brick, too little and his head falls over.
6. Stitch up the little opening by hand. Also I usually attach a label here.
Note: To make a label, design them on the computer, print them on transfer paper, and iron onto felt.
7. Take a good look at the biggerCritter and see what she needs to be finished. A bow? Hair/bangs? Ribbon? A club foot? Three bows? Feathers? Adorn as necessary.
