Woodturner Dave Hout has been turning for more than 25 years and is passionate about working on the lathe. He is joined by student Katie Gates as he demonstrates how to turn a small box with a threaded lid on a mini-lathe. This style of box, which is both beautiful and practical, is created with multiple woodworking and fine measuring tools. They begin by turning the square blank into a round shape and cutting tenons in both ends.
