THE WHOLE PICTURE
  • Low-Light Photography Without a Flash -
  • Episode DTWP-111

Has low lighting ruined more than one of your pictures? Professional photographer Erin Manning understands the difficulty of shooting in low light situations when you are not allowed to use a flash. However, she knows it is possible to shoot great looking digital pictures in such situations. She begins by demystifying several of the functions on her student's digital camera, explaining what the ISO function does, when and why to use the shutter and aperture priority modes, and how to properly use the adjustable white balance function. After Erin and her student experiment with all these various functions, they head back to her studio where she gives the student a lesson on adjusting colors in a digital picture using photo editing software.
