Do your photos of your pets look flat and dull or just plain weird? Professional photographer Erin Manning has the solutions. She explains that a little preparation can go a long way when your subject is as easily distracted as your pet. She begins by showing how to build and light a mini-studio in your home so that you can have everything set up in advance for your animal's photo session. Next Erin discusses why it's important to avoid using your flash in shooting pet portraits. She explains how to get around this by adjusting the sensitivity of the camera's image sensor. Erin and her student then set up and shoot against a background that they will later be able to digitally remove using photo editing software. Finally, they head over to the "digital darkroom" where Erin teaches her student how to use image-editing software to make it look as if the pets have been transported from the studio to glamorous and exotic locations around the world.
