Tricked Out host Andrew Totolos pumps up a Dodge SRT-4 up by adding a computerized engine management system that will help custom match fuel and boost levels to the extensive mods already in place on the car's engine. First, control modules and interface are mounted inside the vehicle, and the wires from the control unit are run from inside to the engine bay. Then the new control unit is wired into the factory ECU, and a boost controller and map sensor get hooked into the system. A new wide-band oxygen sensor is added to acommodate a wider range of ratios, and all the new sensors get calibrated to the modified system. Finally, for the ultimate in tuning, the SRT-4 takes a trip to a Dyno shop to make sure that the newly tricked out engine is operating at optimum levels with the new controls.
