Master potter Bill van Gilder throws a teapot, spout and lid on the potter's wheel. He facets the body of the teapot with a cheese cutter. The lid and the spout are thrown off the hump. The design elements are discussed in detail so that the teapot, once finished, will function smoothly as well as look great.
