Master potter Bill van Gilder demonstrates how to combine several pieces to make a sophisticated and functional soup tureen and ladle. He throws all the pieces on the potter's wheel and assembles them when they are leather hard. He also introduces pulling a long handle for the ladle and easy glazing techniques that pull the disparate pieces together.
