Master potter Bill van Gilder demonstrates how to make two boxes with snug lids. He throws a closed form on the wheel and cuts it into two pieces to form the box or base and the lid. The techniques of collaring and making gallery ledges are demonstrated in detail. He decorates the boxes with wax resist.
