Host Tips
- When budgeting for a kitchen project add around 15% for surprises. You never know what you may find behind that wall when you take it down to add to the space. You may find rotted sub flooring when you prepare to redo the floor.
- Try things yourself and research money saving techniques. Instead of buying brass switch plates for \$8.00 each, use brass spray paint and buy metal switch plates for .50 each. Techniques like these are in magazines, on line and on TV shows everywhere.
- Hire experts when needed. If you are not comfortable doing something, there is a reason the experts are out there. They may have a better technique for dry wall finishing or electrical or plumbing. You may be able to do it, but how many times will you have to do it, or will it be done to code?
