A San Jose, Calif., based knitwear designer specializing in socks, Cookie A. shares a lacy pattern knit from the toe-up. The benefit of knitting a sock from the toe up is that its easier to orient yourself within the stitch pattern, and you can try them on as you go to figure out how long you want them. We use a figure 8 cast on and learn a secret to tightening it, a lace pattern, and short rows to create the heel.
Now: Share your knitting (and needle-arts) projects, tips and ideas with other stitchers on our Purls of Wisdom blog!
