It's essential to have the right acoustics in your home theater, and in this episode, host Corey Greenberg and engineer Mark Midyett show you how to build walls, floors and ceilings for the best sound possible. First we run all our electrical wires and audio video cables. Our next step is to install "batt" and panel insulation, then attach resilient channel to the stud walls and ceiling. We're using a specialty technique in applying the drywall: double layers of different thickness, layering one horizontally, the other vertically so none of the seams overlap. We use this same method when building our floating floor, but add a layer of sound insulation beneath the two layers of plywood.
