Rob and Karen Tysinger have a son, Andrew, who is a musical prodigy. He plays several instruments and is a member of a prestigious local youth orchestra and jazz band. Andrew, who is 17, practices at home with his friends and is beginning to branch out into composing and recording. To accommodate his aspirations, Rob and Karen are going to give up their master bedroom suite and convert it into a music room.
Host Michael Ray Wisely installs acoustic foam panels to the walls and mounts a plywood panel of sound tiles for the ceiling. They then build a drum platform, paint the rooms and solve the problem of soundproofing the existing windows in the room.
