Brian and Therese Jacobsen's (and their two young daughters) lives changed drastically last year. Brian fell in a skiing accident and is paralyzed from the neck down. He spent five months in a hospital and is now adjusting to a new life at home in a wheelchair. Both he and his wife have a positive, and determined, attitude about the future, but their cozy home needs a transformation to accommodate this new situation. The plan is to take the garage and turn it into a gym and rehabilitation room.
Host Michael Ray Wisely, Therese and Kevin Beck (a contractor) install a rubberized floor in the garage, and the whole family gets into the act by building storage cabinets. A 7-foot stretching table that folds up out of the way is built for Brian's rehabilitation.
