Tim and Eulonda Lea have been in a beautiful Washington, D.C., townhouse for less than a year. But the inner workings of this newly renovated dream home are making them queasy. Home inspector Tim Hockenberry finds that the contents of the kitchen garbage disposal upstairs comes up through the drain in the bathtub, downstairs. We replace a pipe under the concrete floor in the basement, remount and reseal the basement toilet and add an air vent to the kitchen sink.
