Jason and Melanie Whiteside have been in their Virginia home at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains for two years. It's always windy where they live. They like that but its making their energy bills go crazy. How is the wind and rain penetrating their house? Home inspector Tim Hockenberry finds drafts in living room, rain puddles at the basement door and window, exterior gaps in the brick and siding and open-ended trim pieces. To fix the problem we seal gaps under siding, flash and seal windows and doors, add a natural barrier to reduce the wind hitting the house.
