Lettuce is a versatile vegetable in the garden and can be grown just about anywhere. Here, host Joe Lamp'l goes over the many popular varieties of lettuce and recommends ones to plant together specifically for salads. Since lettuce is harvested frequently for salad, Joe explains that the seedlings should be started and planted in the garden every few weeks. This gives a continuous crop. Joe also adds the nutrients to the beds that the plants will need to grow. The lettuce seedlings are planted. They grow quickly and the entire plant is usually harvested at once.
