Modern furniture designers constantly pioneer new uses for industrial materialssuch as fiberglass, plastic, wire mesh, aluminum and even stone. So why not concrete? It's not just for roads, buildings and hip kitchen counters anymore.
Today host Amy Devers constructs a wall-mounted concrete table for Adam who loves his small apartment but he needs an accent table by the front door to hold important things like his cell phone and current reading. She'll construct this by using casting methods invented 5000 years ago to build the ancient pyramidswith the same steel support system that lets skyscrapers soar! She'll show how to cut a pedestal from a single piece of cherry lumber and finish it with a polish made from insect pupae.
