Creating new seating solutions for dining and entertaining—whether it's every day casual or more formal—is a challenge for contemporary furniture designers because we need to constantly adapt to the fast pace of change happening in our lifestyles and culture. Tanya would like to maximize her current tables use by accommodating more guests around it. Today host Amy Devers is building a set of stackable seats for Tanya, transforming it into a chic dining table that stores like a deck of cards! She'll demonstrate how to transform a piece of solid wood into a form fitting chair by slicing it up and then bending it to create curves.
Amy will show how to make a soft cushion out of silicon and the substance in sand and glass that's used to make computer chips.
