For more than half a century, contemporary designers have gravitated toward clean lines and a quest for balance in furniture making. So how do you create a piece for someone whose taste ranges from 1930's rattan to 19th-century French? Who needs something contemporary to tie their eclectic collection together? Today host Amy Devers is building a colorful, sleek wood bench for her friend Cory that fits the bill perfectly! Cory lives in a high-rise with a stunning vista from her eclectically furnished living room. But in front of the window, she's resorted to using a pillow on the floor for guests to relax on. She needs bright and colorful seating for the area so no one will ever have crouch down on the floor to enjoy the view! Amy will be working with a rich paint used for thousands of yearsthat's made of milk, and she'll show you how dull steel is transformed into shiny smooth chromeusing corrosive acid!
