Amy creates this ottoman from a cork mold and metal legs.

Furniture designers are always searching for renewable, inexpensive materials to work with. Cork has a flexibility and rich texture that make it ideal. Victor has a furniture dilemma. He loves to cozy up in his leather chair perched in his bright and airy bay window, but he doesn't have anything to prop his feet up on when he wants to kick back and relax. He needs a compact ottoman that quietly complements its surroundings. In this episode, host Amy Devers makes a footrest from a mold using small grains of cork and visits a fabricator who combines computer controlled precision with an ancient Egyptian technique for bending metal.
