Many fans of modern furniture are drawn to pieces with bright colors and flowing curves. In this episode, host Amy Devers builds a decorative fire screen for Nathan and Emily who want to complement their earth tone color scheme with bold splashes of color. They want to transform their decorative fire place from an eyesore to a warm focal point. Amy creates a design template and builds a brightly colored decorative fire screen made out of 14 pieces of curved medium density fiberboard. Threaded rods screw into threaded inserts and hold the orange-red painted pieces of MDF together with ½ inch aluminum spacers between each piece.
