In this final episode of DIY's
Floors, Doors and Windows workshop, hosts Jay Baker and Scott Branscom replace a garage door in terrible shape with a new one. The first step is removing the old door, panel by panel, along with the tracks. The first panel of the new door has to be trimmed down with a circular saw, and the guys add weather stripping to the panel as well. Some of the timbers of the door's frame are rotten, so Branscom replaces them with new 2x4s, and the new track is attached to these. The guys show how to put together the tension-rod assembly for the door operator and install it. The last step inside the garage is installing the brackets to hold the operator, and then mounting the operator. Outside, the guys nail vinyl trim around the edges of the door, and the door can be painted any color the homeowner desires.
