Allister Bland and Layne Robertson are roommates and best friends who want a new look for their dining room. It's furnished mostly with Layne's girlie things, and Allister finds it way too feminine. His only contribution to the room is four comfy but mismatched chairs that don't go with Layne's things--especially an orange chair. He insists that the chairs stay, and they agree that the room needs color and cohesion.
The Fresh Coat solution is to create elegant sophistication with navy blue walls bathed in bronze and a sleek dining table painted in bold orange, which will tie into Allister's chair. The worn and dirty sisal rug is renewed with a solid coat of warm gray, and interest is added with dark brown hand-painted paisleys. Finally the serpentine dresser is spruced up with cream, aqua and gold giving it a vintage but glamorous new feel--and Allister can feel more at home.
