Host Kevin Tetz and Vespa restoration expert Greg West get to work on improving the front fork unit of the project '74 Vespa Sprint Veloce scooter. They install new brake shoes and a new front shock absorber, which will provide a smoother and safer ride. Then they explain how a two-cycle engine works and start on the Vespa engine. To increase the power, they install a larger performance carburetor, which will allow for greater air flow so the engine can breathe better. For additional power, Kevin and Greg install a DR 177 cylinder kit, which produces an increase in low and midrange power. To complement the performance upgrades and larger cylinder, they also install a larger free flowing Sito exhaust system. Then they get the scooter back up and standing on two wheels by re-installing the front fork unit and engine. Lastly, they run the control cables through the scooter body and prepare it for re-wiring.
