Guest Connie Okdie creates a dimensional clay illustration with an ocean floor theme. Connie demonstrates how to prepare a masonite board that will act as the canvas. Then, with the help of host Jennifer Perkins, Connie demonstrates how to plan the drawing, form the water background, form sand and ocean floor texture, form sea weed and sea grass, make and apply clay coral, and then create a playful textured fish. To finish, the entire piece is baked, enhanced with paint and embossing powders, heat set, and sealed with acrylic floor wax.
