The brownstone gets some beautiful new ash flooring, and Bob gives an explanation of quartersawn lumber and its benefits of added stability and reduced shrinkage and swelling. The original masonry party walls receive a three-coat plaster treatment directly on the brick; to meet the original preserved crown molding. And in the back bedroom, exterior walls are given a more modern treatment with mold-resistant drywall over the metal framing and insulation. Despite the modern treatments and touches, the brownstone starts to evolve and take on its true character and shape.
