Bob Vila visits Elm Court today, the historic home in Lenox, Mass., that was abandoned for 50 years before being reclaimed and restored. Elm Court was bought by Sonya and Bob Berle, whose ancestors originally built the massive home in 1886. Elm Court is the largest shingle style home in the country. We see some of the historic features, such as deck where talks were held that eventually led to the Treaty of Versailles. Inside we get a tour of the magnificent foyer and hear about how the house looked when they originally found it. Next, we head to the basement to learn more about what had to be done to the infrastructure of the home before work could even begin on the upstairs. Also, we'll see some of the structured wiring and mechanical systems already installed. Upstairs, we take a peek at the library and the adjoining conservatory.
