Homeowners Nate and Carolyn moved a year ago with their two sons to this 1918 arts-and-crafts bungalow. The main floor of the house retains its original arts-and-crafts charm, but the upstairs was finished very cheaply with low ceilings and an awful half bathroom. Handmade arts-and-crafts style tile is added to the walls of the steam shower, including a classic subway field tile, chair rail and decorative accent tiles. Next, the walls in the rest of the room get covered with oak wainscoting, and oak trim on the windows is added to match the rest of the house. Finally, Nate gets to work sanding the reclaimed oak flooring which was installed in a previous episode.
