Jack and Maureen have updated their home to reflect their evolving sense of style, but their master bathroom is stuck in the past. There is a gaping hole where the shower used to be, a big half-wall shelf that seemed like a good idea on paper and a carpeted platform for the toilet that is just plain gross.
Floor tile is the first major addition in this episode, so host Amy Matthews along with the homeowners prep the subfloor by adding a layer of cement board. The tub deck gets covered by the same slate tile being used throughout this lake-inspired bathroom update. The new jetted tub is set, and the floor is finished off with grout.
