Constructing a best-built production home takes a forward thinking builder, an educated homebuyer and some building science. This episode looks at what a production builder is and how they build homes more efficient, durable, healthy, comfortable and safe. We'll meet three families from around the country and see how their builder made the construction process more environmental, their developments more like neighborhoods and the buying and designing process easier. Plus, you'll see a new method of production home building that takes the construction out of the field and into the factory. Finally, see how all this science works as part of what is called the systems-integration approach, making homes best built. This workshop is hosted by Lynda Lyday, a DIY building expert.
