mayonnaise jar
glass etching cream
craft brush
Masquepen with Supernib
seed beeds
3-5 fancy big beads
Krylon stained glass spray paint
votive candle
1-1/2 yard 28-gauge nontarnish silver wire
Steps:1. Clean and dry empty mayonnaise jar.
2. Use the Supernib attachment on the Masquepen to make a design all over the jar. Little squiggles can be nice, as well as shapes like stars and hearts (figure A). You can also write sayings or words.
3. Apply a thick layer of etching cream (figure B).
4. Wait five minutes and then wash off (figure C).
5. Take jar outside and spray the inside lightly with a few coats of the stained glass paint (figure D). When working with spray paint, be sure to work outdoors or in a well ventilated area.
6. String 36 inches of seed beads on to the wire. Wrap the beaded wire around the top of the jar in between the grooves where the lid would go (figure E).
7. Wrap the ends of the wires together and finish by putting big beads on the ends (figure F).
8. Place candle inside jar.
